Torrential rain and wild winds demonstrate that you can’t always control the weather. What was meant to be an outdoor painting week in March with my Queensland painting friends turned into something more adventurous. The day after we arrived on the island so did a cyclone warning. We opted to stay as we were in a safe part of the island, and in a very well constructed house. I did manage one painting before the cyclone hit and we lost power for the next 4 days, but it was a wonderful time to chat with friends and share stories.
